This past month I had the privilege to speak in a classroom at Huntington Beach High School. There were several Christians and several atheists. An intelligent atheist had all of her attacks on the Bible answered. At the end of the lesson she angrily said, "well my church never taught me any reasons to believe in God when I was growing up!"

Did you see the movie "Contact?" Jodie Foster’s character, playing a brilliant scientist, smugly said she stopped going to church when her Bible Study teacher could not answer her question. Her question was "whom did Cain marry?" (That is an easy answer, he married his sister. Was it incest, sure, by definition it was….was it wrong….God decides what is right and wrong and he did not call marrying your sister wrong until the time of Moses).

But kids need answers, and they are being pulled in many directions, and may be walk away from God if they are not getting good answers. If you are stumped, do this: tell the person you do not have an answer, but you promise do some some research, and will get back to him/her….and do the research!
